Nice to see this continuing to evolve!
Will a kit be available soon?

The 8Cube is clearly much hotter than Paris Hilton! (Although I fear that soldering that many LEDs at one time could easily numb one’s brain in a similar fashion.) I also dream of a kit, but happily I am still high on my 4Cube… you guys rock!!!
@Ally
That’s not so far-fetched. The thing is running a full-fledged PC (a cute little Atom board) under there, and we’ll have an API for it. We most likely won’t have scripting out of the gate, but the foundation is there.
I’ll definitely take one of these once they’re ready, even in kit form! Built a 4×4 and love it – fun project all around!

This is awesome! I thought the 4×4 was incredible, this just blows me away! Any idea on pricing yet? Also, I was wondering if the visualizations that are shown on your video page come pre-programmed on the PIC of the 4×4 cube? I am going to order one of the kits for the 4×4 cube, but never tried to program anything like this. Thanks!

Cant wait for this kit, have you thought about reaction to sound at all?
Yes, we’ve had progress. The exterior is much the same (the base got a bit thinner) but we’ve made a lot of progress on the software. Just about done actually. I’m hoping to have the blasted thing finally out sometime in August.

Want! Be nice if you could send little scripts to it for playback, though I suspect that`d be too complex.
@Rene
Hopefully!

wow… this is amazing, definitely a must have! if its running its own atom, maybe I could get one and make it into the coolest Media Center box ever!
@Gene
That sounds cool, having a full linux (?) machine underneath would open up a world of possibilities.
Though I`m not sure I`ll be able to afford this monster 🙁
DO WANT!
Dude… Suhweehhhhtt!
I built the 4cube and love it. It amazes everyone that sees it. I can’t wait for the 8cube!

Yes – not sure if Chris has gotten to it yet, but the 8 will definitely have sound response.
When is this going to be available?
Sorry to bother you guys, but it’s been six months since the last comment. So I figured it wouldn’t hurt to re-ping: any progress?
I’d love to make one of these.
So it has…
