I’ve finally got the LEDs in, tested a few, and they’re right this time. So we should be packing up a pile of kits this weekend, and be back in business. To all who have been waiting, thank you for your patience!

After some back and forth got things sorted out (I hope…) with our LED supplier, and they’re sending us replacements. Barring further problems, I expect we’ll be back in stock by the end of the month. Blah.

We’ve got parts in, ready to be sorted into kits so we can ship out backorders and declare ourselves back in stock. But then I find that the LEDs our supplier sent us have the wrong pinouts. So I’m currently sitting on 10 thousand LEDs I can’t use and trying to get this sorted out with the supplier. Unfortunately this means we won’t be back in stock for probably at least 2 more weeks. Sorry to those waiting, I’ll be contacting those with backorders directly and you can always get a full refund if you don’t want to wait any longer.

I’m popping out of my long absence here to let people know that we’re low on stock of 4Cubes and might not be able to fulfill any new orders until January.

I know an update is long overdue in these parts, so real quick: the two most common questions I get are “are you still alive/selling” (yes) and “when is the 8Cube available?” (uh…) The 8Cube is actually getting pretty close to being done. I was hoping to have it available before the year was out, but unfortunately it looks like we’re going to miss it. So January is now the goal. I’ll try to take and post some pics so you don’t think we’re just completely making this all up.

Some new 8Square pics. The pictures below have the smoked acrylic front - the 8Square also comes with a clear glass front, but we think this looks better.

Clarification - you will also get the glass panel, so if you disagree with us you have the option of using it.

A little while ago, one of our customers provided us with an improved jig design, and was kind enough to provide detailed instructions and pictures. It’s easier to make, use, and should produce better results than our jig design, so I recommend everyone use it. I’ve packaged it up into a PDF and posted it alongside the kit instructions. …since I’ve posted anything here. Despite what it may seem, we’re not dead yet! We’ve been working on the 8Cube, and actually making progress on it this time; hopefully we’ll have something available in the next couple of months.

To inject some life back in here, I’ll be posting pics of various things (better pics of the 8Square, new jig, maybe some prototype 8Cube) in the next couple of days.

Just a heads up that due to Thanksgiving Christmas New Years, any kit orders received in the next couple of days will not be processed until next Friday(Dec 26 Jan 2) or Monday (Dec 1 Dec 29. Jan 5)

We’re out of 4Cube PCBs until Thursday, when a new batch should arrive. Any 4Cube orders between now and then will be delayed a few days.

Update: Just to confirm, we’ve got the new PCBs, so 4Cube’s are back in stock.
